Masako seeing her friend skips over to Teruko, so happy, and says, “Just think, Teruko so very soon now, I know you must be as excited as I.
“At least you should not have the fears I do that you will goof. I heard sensei talking, she knows with you, all will go well.
“Is that not a reassuring sign?”

ooc: no she read her own and thought possibly Teruko was feeling the same.
As she skips around, acting so care free, Masako tells Teruko, "I am going to brain wash myself into knowing we are going to do so well...the emperor will ask us back for regular performances.
“And soon we will be asked to perform in Tokyo theaters too. We shall become the finest entertaining Maiko group ever. That is what I want to feel.”

"Oh come now. You and I both know that Noh is the entertainment of the court. Kabuki and geisha were created for the entertainment of merchants. Samurai were discouraged from attending. This is a rare event indeed to perform for the Emperor."

Then Masako stops her foolishness, and tells Teruko, “Yes my talented friend it is, even more reason for us all to know how very good we must be to be asked this rare privilege. And Teruko-san, our abilities and humility will see us through this. For we have the best teachers and none of us are so weak as to mess up this opportunity.”

"It will help to allay my nervousness too. It looks to be cold again this morning. Now either the shivering from the cold will simulate our quivering from nervousness, or we could practice at my okiya instead. Surely Okaasan would not object to me practicing with a friend."
